As the years go by I notice my hair on my scalp retreating and taking up residence elsewhere on my body, like my nose, ears, that space between my eyebrows, and my nether regions. My hair has a little grey in it, 1 of my eyes seems to be a bit bigger than the other, and I walk kind of funny because I have flat feet. I also have scars all over My head. But you know what, I still look pretty damn good.
I know I'm not a heart throb. I know that I am not the guy some woman is dreaming about to save her, but you know what? I'm real. I don't try to hide my imperfections, I don't try to hide the real me. I like everything about myself physically. I exercise, I have a 4 pack, when I get a 6 pack, I'm definitely going to add a pic. of them to my photos because I will be proud of what I made happen. I don't care what women think when they see me, if they don't find me attractive fine I just won't waist my time with them. I am glad to be me physically. I actually am proud of how I look physically despite my imperfections. I have a dear friend that I wanted to see this. My message to that person is that it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside as long as you're happy being you. None of that is why I am here and those who know me know that I can be a little cocky. Lol

Do you think anxiety is genetic or comes from your environment? What are your thoughts?

good for you Drew. Be proud of who you are.. we all have our imperfections. I wish so much that I hadn't spent so many of my almost 55 years of my life worrying about how I looked and not feeling ' good enough'.. not perfect enough. It's what my mom passed down to me and it saddens me alot. I love her. She's 79 years old and beautiful and still wants to talk to me in every conversation about how fat she is when she isn't... I don't want to be doing that when I'm 79... your post really hit me.. I wish we all could learn to love ourselves for who we are . Even if we want to make improvements ( you needed 2 more packs .lol ), we do need to love and accept ourselves for who we are TODAY. Inner beauty is what resonates the most and makes us all beautiful in the true sense of the word. It doesn't matter how beautiful someone may appear on the ' outside'.. if they are ugly on the inside , that is what will come through.. always.
Hugs Mr. cocky one.. lol.
you know I love you to pieces.. now give me 500 crunches. ;0P~
Everyone else: I am the dear friend he was referring to.
He's alittle cocky .. maybe we all need to get some ' DREW COCKY' going on!
okay. something about that sounded wrong. sorry.. lol
y'all know what I meant.
I have problems with women because I want to be in love. I rush things and make it impossible for a relationship to progress. I see what could be and I rush things. I really want to take things slow but my mind looks to the future and I get lost in some delusion that I made up. I need to learn how to stay planted in the here and now.
I have tried to change, still the same...so strange.
I cannot accept the way i look, if I was a stew I would shoot the cook.
Hating myself and more...my self esteem is tore.
I joke around with the hot guy in my avatar (he is the best player on my favorite soccer team), but you know what? I find real guys to be attractive. I would much rather have a real guy who treats a woman well than a pretty boy playboy any day. The only guy I have ever loved is a real, normal looking guy and yet he couldn't be any sexier to me. I would take him over the guy in my avatar any day (but unfortunately I can't have either lol). So you definitely don't need to be a Brad Pitt to be hot to a woman.
G, aww that breaks my heart. My mom is the same way and her issues passed on down to me as well. Every.Single.Day. my mom talks about her weight, food, dieting. She looks great for 72 and yet she wishes she could look like some 22 year airbrushed model in magazines. Hell she has less gray hair than I do (yes really lol).
Society is so backwards when it comes to beauty. We worship people who have professionals working on them from head to toe and are airbrushed in magazines. In other words, we worship people who aren't even real and then we feel bad because we don't look like that. Why?!
I agree: What's on the inside is what counts. And sometimes what's on the inside is ugly too! Physical exercise helps me, feel beautiful on the inside and look beautiful, as beautiful as possible, on the outside. When I'm feeling really old, ugly and decrepid, a good session of pushing weight restores that feel-good endorphin vibe. I may still look ugly, but I don't give a shit; I'm STRONG. I can handle whatever crap life throws at me, and I have love to give.
OR, did I miss the boat again...?
