MY HUBBY LEFT HIS OXYGEN MACHINE HOME ACCIDENTLY.
HE IS ON THE ROAD AND DOT REQUIRES HIM 2 USE IT EVERYNIGHT.
I M TRUSTING THE LORD HE DOES NOT LOSE HIS TRUCKING JOB.
HE HAS MILD SLEEP APNIA.
HE CALLED 2DAY AND I ASKED HIM IF HE MIGHT LOSE HIS JOB BECAUSE HIS MACHINE IS HERE AT THE HOUSE.
HE SAID NO.
I M PATIENTLY WAITING 2 SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN.
PRAY 4 BOTH OF US PLEASE.
HE WILL B WITHOUT HIS MACHINE FOR TWO WEEKS.
THE MACHINE HAS A MEMORY CARD TO SEE IF AND WHEN HE USES IT AT NIGHT.

Wondering if you could FedEx it to him ... to one of his stops over the next two weeks. He tells you where he will be and you could ship it to him ... maybe.
Don't worry ... the odds are he will be OK either way.
I have extreme obstructive sleep apnea and have to use CPAP. As uncomfortable and irritating as they are, they do help. To not take his machine with him is very foolish, and irresponsible as a truck driver especially. The demands of driving and sleep deprivation do not mix well together. I used to get to about three in the afternoon and would have great difficulty keeping my eyes open unless I got a cat nap. The danger is of micro-sleeps here where the brain involuntarily shuts off - he must use it. You have every right to be worried. Sorry, I do not wish to alarm you but this is a very serious condition and must be treated. I would insist he use it as much as you can and if at all possible, FED-EX it to him.
Sleep Apnea, even relatively mild causes a host of serious health issues including lung disease, heart attack, stroke, diabetes II, and more because it robs you of delta wave/slow wave sleep - the restorative sleep the body desperately needs. Your husband is fooling himself to think he can do without it and quite probably putting his own life and those of others at risk. Again, I do not wish to upset you, but it is important to understand it for what it is. G
