Sorry I just need to vent. I'm 35 and my mom still talks down to me. Even worse- I have to work with her and I'm her boss. She contradicts me in front of other employees and that just pi$$es me off. And it's not just about work matters, some of it is personal. Once, she actually told my employees that I was anorexic. Of course, she's never in the wrong and everybody loves her. Me- I'm the nasty B@#%H that everybody's supposed to be afraid of. So, I just play the part and say nothing like a big dumb coward.
I hope you find the courage to tell your mom to knock it off, or maybe transfer her to another department??? I don't think it is fair to have a family member as another family membe'rs boss. (not fair to you) I don't know how big you work place is, but if possible I'd transfer her out of my department. Lord did I hate it when they brought up your personal life to coworkers. Really pissed me off. What made it worse, one of them married my boss, there he was at every family gathering getting all the family gossip on me.
