Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

That kind of person can ruin your life only if you allow it. Detach. Stop worrying about anything she does. Don't try to find out what she does. If you are worried about her kids, report her to Child Protective Services or to the police.
It doesn't matter what she does. It only matters how you let it affect you. Eleanor Roosevelt was quoted as saying, "No one can offend you without your permission." That is true. Don't let her actions impact you. Just because she says bad things about people doesn't make it true. You know the truth, and that is all that matters.
Her social life probably isn't a lie. People who know her are smart enough to see through the front she has put up. They might be hanging around her only because she has money. When you have money, you have to choose your friends carefully.
Let it go. Stop worrying about her. What she does may be awful, but there's nothing you can do about it. Enjoy your life!!!
The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit the views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

Try your best to be kind to her. The more she tries to alter you, the more you should resist kindly. You could even show her this quote. Explain to her that she is ruining people's lives. Secretly do some small acts of service for her. (I know it may seem like she does not deserve it. None of us do. That doesn't mean people shouldn't serve others.) Hopefully, the more you serve her, the more her mood will change, but it may take time. Never give up. Never give in.
