Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Stay strong. It is great you have a good therapist, I wish I did.
I set alarms on my phone and on my computer to remind myself of when, time to leave and when I should be at a building. My memory is affected by trauma, so I often need to check what today is. Because like you say it is ultimately my job to remember to take care of me and my needs.
A possibility? I also have tinnitus from an injury and every now and then it has vocal rhythms. Like when someone says a name or word, though not a real word, but the mind likes to categorize things so it will take sounds and match them to words. Much like a new parent will hear a baby go "aah aah" and hear Dada, rejoicing that the baby called them.
Then it will make the words make sense, even if they were only sounds. I have had this for years and it took a while of replaying ..what did I actually hear? This is much worse in groups( my tension, I am introvert), as a side effect of some medications and if my stress is high (ex. testing or anxious) since the tinnitus have various waves of strength. I have to remember my mind only knows what I know, so if I am feeling down, it may say some pretty defeating things, which I believe I hear, which never helps my moods....which ups the strength.
The things that will help both the therapist and psychologist is to rule these things out , and keeping them on the same page with your physicians. I never knew the distant sound of water rolling over ricks I heard was in my hearing and when I associate it to the vision of water rolling over rocks, was my mind filling in the blanks with what it knew. There are many other things to check like your nutrition levels, lower vit D and B's can effect you physiology and mind (depression).
I am not a mushy person, not even with babies since that was not part of my childhood, but support to you gaining the control over your emotions, and making proactive reactions with the energy they make. Take care of you first.
