I AM IN A SHIT TON OF PAIN

I am so depressed I cry out in physical pain from it. Had an appointment with a Kaiser doc today, was called and left a message stating that the doc had called in sick and that we had to reschedule. Fine, I can accept that. It happens. I call them up, with a massive headache, telling them that I am severely depressed and in pain and that I need medical/psychiatric care. They transfer me to Behavioral Health, who does not understand why I am calling because, according to their system, my doctor was there and my appointment was still active. They transfer me to Medical Services, and I hang up after being on hold for 15 fucking minutes. I LEFT WORK EARLY FOR THIS SHIT. I NEED HELP. I AM IN FUCKING PAIN. DOES ANYONE ANYWHERE GIVE A SHIT???????????????

Sorry red for what your going through. Just dealing with doctors and hospitals today can cause more pain than help it seems. Could you go in and speak directly to them? find out what is going on? That's not right they left you on hold or if worse they did it deliberately. I'd ask to speak to the supervisor and express your displeasure. What if you were bleeding to death? would it be ok for them to leave you on hold for 15 minutes. Buuuuuut no, it's depression, not 'life threatening' you can tough it through right? Sorry don't think saying that is a lot of help, but to me you are bleeding out, just not blood but your soul. I hope you can find a quiet place and ease the headache and relax to some calming music and heal. Sorry Red. Love

I'm so sorry. That sounds awful. The medical system is so flawed. they don't seem to care anymore. The only thing I can think of is going to emergency or a walk in clinic but that's a huge hassle. I can't remember, are you in counselling at all right now?

Does home care help at all for the headache? I'm sorry I'm not much help. I'm barely hanging on here too.
When I get bad headaches I take Tylenol and put a heating pad on the back of my neck. maybe some gentle stretching or shoulder rolls and then into bed.

The headache was only part of the pain, most of it was depression. It seriously fucking hurts these days.

Can you make an emergency appointment with your therapist? You could also go to a walk-in urgent care clinic to get something for the pain.

I'm going to their urgent care tonight. If I can hang on that long. My therapist is an hour away. I called her last night in tears.

Unfortunately, mental health care is not treated the same as physical health, and dealing with insurance companies can be super stressful at a time when you're already in crisis.

I hope that urgent care was helpful, and that getting some help for your physical pain helps ease some of your troubles until you can see your psychiatrist and therapist.

That sounds like the road I was on for the longest time. I broke my back in 1983, my neck in 2009, pancreatitis in 2010 and an arthritic spine so I know about chronic pain. With the depression it took my VA psychiatrist 10 years and 4 sucide attemps to get the meds right. Don't give up! Go to your psychiatrist and DEMAND that they change your meds. As to the pain, the VA decided that I had a Vicodin deficiency and put me on narcodics for 30 years. I finally got tired of taking them and told them to shove it. Now I try non-narcodic methodes. I currently use a Beta-Wave unit for my lower back pain. It is a temporary fix to a perminent problem but I take what I can get. I am now going to get a spinal cord stimulater to deal with the pain. Wish me luck! Again hang in there and be FIRM with your doctors.
