I recently went through a reverse mortgage and either the bank we deal with (not with the reverse mortgage) or a member of my family has reported suspicious financial activity and froze all her accounts.
This lady came to the house today while I wasnt home and now I have to met with her on Friday. The lady said my mother looked like I she was being taking care of well. She notified my sister and talked with her also.
My mother is 84 and was planning on leaving me just about everything but I had the will changed so it was MORE in favor of my brothers and sisters.
I cant help but think my sister has something to do with this as most of the people at the bank know my mother and I but who knows...My sister has been dealing with heart problems and my gut feeling is she is jealous over the money I have already received...She doesnt need any more stress so I am going to ignore it.
Meanwhile I have to get all my mothers finances and mine in order by Monday and my sister said my mental health issue could come up even though she said nothing she says. How the hell would they know...

I take it yours mums house that she wants to take the equity out of the hose to live and when she passes on the money from sale of house

AS for your mental health status you sound ok to me, with the added stress of looking after your mother i would be surpirsed if there was not some mental stress. put your best shirt and tie on if your mental health omes up be honest and say its something I deal with and it is managed. From what your saying you have been reasonably stable at least for the last couple of months so if it comes up look them in the eye and say I managing it have been stable and you can be a bit creative here or honest depends on yourself.
But at the investigation I take it your sister and all family will be there?
Outright ask the question what is the problem if my mum wants to take money out of the house to live a little.
Ask who omplained and see if they have the guts to admitt it
Sadly it isn't the first time I've heard of siblings being pissed off at the one who's in line to inherit everything . . . even though that one is who has been taking care of the parent for years and years.
I haven't heard of them doing this though! You are the one who has done everything right though. Being a caregiver is one of the most selfless and giving things a person can do. You should be very proud of yourself.
As for the investigation. Don't worry - the truth has a way of coming out on top. You'll be OK.
