Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND I AM PRAYING FOR YOU!!
I've had those 'what does it matter what I do, I'm not gonna be around anyway' thoughts and I had to combat that with: 'I have to motivate myself to do what I need to do just in case I'm here' mentality because, odds are that you WILL still be here. If you don't, you will sink even deeper into depression and finding even more reasons to blame/hate yourself; you've even acknowledged this...
Depression is the BEST liar I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. You're very young and have so much ahead of you; there's plenty of experiences for you to build on and getting thru this will make you that much stronger; please hang in there...
For me, my job and school were my saving grace. In my freshman year of college, I went through such a rough patch where I almost lost my job and my grades were so bad that I had to switch my major. I've been able to turn it around a little. I still hate many aspects of my life, but instead when I'm feeling completely panicked about everything, I journal. I allow myself as much time as necessary to write down everything that's on my mind. My journals don't make sense and if anyone else were to read them they would probably think I was insane. Then I move on and do something constructive. The journaling usually helps get some things off my mind in order to allow me to do other things.
I had a suicide attempt 3 years ago. Somedays, even now, I have times where I think to myself, it's just not worth it. I think back to myself laying in the hospital, waking up, and my mom sitting next to me in tears apologizing as if she had done something wrong. That was just an attempt, and I feel horrible about what it did to my mom and even when I have days where I just want to give up, I think back to that and realize that I CAN'T do that to her. I can't leave here.
I hope this helps, I may have gotten off topic, but I hope you'll find some good points in what I said.
Take good care of yourself, you are more than worth it.
