Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Do you have a regular doctor that you see? Please put in a call to him/her (if not, maybe your gyno?) and they can get you on the road to feeling better. Can you talk to your hubby about the real reason behind the changes you've experienced? Give him a heads-up that you're going to work on fixing things so that he'll be on board and supportive. The doctor can help you with antidepressants, if necessary, and also make a recommendation for counseling. You definitely need it. It sounds like you and your grandma were extremely close. I'm so sorry for your loss. But I don't think she would want to see you living like this, right? It's time to get back on track. Call your doctor today. You can do this!
It is your subconscious mind telling you that something is wrong!
There is a bereavement group here, that is a good place to start. Yes, your grief is most likely coming out as depression, but I strongly suspect that it is this failure to grieve that is at the root of your problem.
By all means bring this up in therapy. Your therapist may suggest that instead of doing couples therapy you focus on yourself first.
Gentle hugs
