Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
is there something you love to eat or drink? somewhere you do enjoy going to? you have to find something...anything to focus on that can make it that little easier to get moving. the more you look for to focus on the more you might find! again, this may not work for you and is not as easy as it sounds, i know from personal experience, and it won't do it over night but the more you try, the easier it will become over time. basically, we just have to start caring and trying again. good luck and i am sorry you feel so low.

setting goals can work. like before you go to sleep at night-time, write down at least 3 things you are going to MAKE yourself do the next day... like: walk the dog, make a nice meal for yourself from scratch, clean the windows, vacuum the house, buy some groceries, get your hair done, or your nails.... i'd make 2 fun things to do, and 1 necessary NOT fun thing, like a household chore. that way you're not only making sure you feel like you have a purpose and reason to get up, but you're also not just messing around having fun and you're actually getting stuff done that needs to be....
good luck...
as for me, i set my phone alarm to go off 2 hours before i have to catch the bus, so that i can shower, do my hair and makeup nice and not have to rush... some days i just don't bother to do anything because it seems actually impossible to get out of bed. but most days, now, i manage. i just have to FORCE myself to get up. lying awake can get boring anyway. especially if you can hear other people in the house clattering cups and plates and running taps and shouting at each other from different rooms. LOL.
ohhh i have a good idea!! - you could put on a movie in the mornings; that way you could stay in bed but it would be like a gentle transition from sleep, waking up, and getting out of bed :)
portable dvd players work good :D i do that sometimes
xx
After that, it gets easier - trust me.
Am ashame to say I went 3.5 days w/o showering. I still washed my face. I use the waste backet in my bd as a sinl to spit in after I brushed my teeth.
On 5th day my dearest friend & her husband came over - she stood in shower w me. I managed to put on cloths that she laid out for me. I would lay in floor every chance I could. Her husband would lift me bk on my ft. dang it.
Later that day she returned w cooked food- yep I was bk in bed in clean cloths, lol.
Early that day it was a mood lifter just to have company. yep I felt better - more alive- when she bapitized me,lol.
maybe you could get someone to come over and clear chair in your bd and read to you or watch a show on tv.
The following day my friend, her husband & 1 of her daughters came over - yep I was still in same cloths. will her husband pick me up and sat me in bk seat of thier car against my wishes.
After the short drive I felt so miuch better.
of course I went bk to bd but later that evening I managed to sign while I clean my bth rm & changed the sheets on my bd and started a load of laundry. Thank God my washed laundry hadn't spoiled when I got bk to it 3 days later, lol
Getting up, listing tpo peepy music and taking a shower & getting in to clean pj's will help.
the following day take a shower & go bk to bed.
the following day go tidy up kitchen.
The following day have a friend to come over w a plate of food.
The following day change the bd sheets.
do at least 1 activeity per day.
as like myself you will get your physical entergy back and the depressing will slowly lift.
My dear freind got a neighbour of mine who I didn't know - except to wave at in passing to bring in my mail & paper & tend to my waste cans. My inside can sets by bk door.
People will and want to help but we half to reach out and speak up.
You can do this. Ya at 1st it feels like hell & all we can think about is bd or sofa
but we can take care of our over all well being for ourselves and for those we care about and for neighbours who we become freinds w.
