I can imagine how stressful it is living with your mother. That surely adds a level of stress to the marriage as well.
I agree with other who have posted, you and your husband need some deep and honest communication about how you are feeling. You say he is depressed, too. Perhaps you should see a relationship counselor, or both have some kind of tools. I know you said money is an issue, but maybe there is a way to work things out to get professional help. But when even one person in a relationship is depressed, let alone both, its normal that there will be emotional distance.
