Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I have always believed its because I am not very solcial, you know, I don't go to parties, hate going to church, and I certainly don't like bars, a bunch of alcoholics are what you find there.
I really don't know what the answer is for us. I even have people on DS who I make friendships with, only to find out later on that they secretly covertly removed me as friend for no apparant reason.
I don't know, maybe were just not very lovable lol. Well, I hope you know that you have my support and friendship if you need it. Take care and have a good one. And Merry Christmas :)

let me be clear that i am talking about real life close friends here. the kind you go and do things together with. they require maintenance.
instead, you can come here and make a ton of friends and there is a shared understanding that people might decide to leave this place at any time and maybe not even return again. no strings attached, no maintenance requirements. the friendships are not a burden here but they can be in real life. maybe the rest of your brain knows this well and makes you act accordingly but isn't telling the conscious part?

For instance, I am in my church's men's club. Doesn't really have requirements other than pay your $5 annual dues. But you are not required to go to Church to be in the group.
I am like you where I don't have enough friends. But the 2 that I do came from being in this Men's Club.
Be a good listener, show genuine interest in other people, dress well, have fun parties, try to be upbeat, don't see personal slights, reach out periodically for updates and say hello,
It takes a fair amount of discipline, personally I tend to be a loner, but you choose what you want in life.
