I am depressed and I do Avon...If you have trouble with motivation then it will be difficult to do. But it also opens up a whole new world..You will be talking to people that you never thought you would be able to and stuff like that. It will definitely be a good use of time for you. I struggle with the motivation thing at the moment...that and i never know when i am getting more money for gas so i try not to drive much. but if you don't drive you can go for walks and do avon on your walks. I hand out books whenever i run my errands.

Do you just knock on peoples doors and hand it to them?

Do you have a online website? My cousin works for Avon and she does, but for some reason when I ask around, not everyone seems to have one.

I do not go door to door. When i go grocery shopping, i hand out books to all those customers...doctor's appointments i leave a couple of books with the receptionist. bank, hand out to their customers and the tellers...gas stations same thing. stuff like that. i also will ask if i can leave books at those stores, and if they say yes then i do. you run your business however you want to.

o the websites do costs about 8 dollars every campaign, but we do not have to do anything except put in our contact info and a picture if we want.

I sold Avon and Mary K for a few years on a part time basis. If you have the time to put into it, I would say, yes it is worth it...............psst It cost more to start a Mary Kay business than an Avon business.

It costs about 90 dollars more to start Mary Kay. I looked into doing Mary Kay and couldn't afford them. Not bashing Mary Kay, just agreeing with HeartQueen. :)

I remember a friend and I were out drinking and sitting on the curb with a bunch of other people one evening about 25 years ago and this Mary Kay rep pulled up (they are the ones with the Pink Cadillac, right?) She tried to talk us into selling this stuff and we could drive around in a car like that too.....me.....in a pink car....ROFL!

I finished my beer, burped all ladylike and said "are you sure you don't want to reconsider finding someone else?"

She pretty much left after that.....lol.

I tried to sell Mary Kay several years ago....it cost me plenty and I just couldn't make a go of it. Not sure how Avon is different; though I'd imagine that in either case you have to have SOME aptitude for reaching out to people. It's not really a good match for introverted people.

With Avon, it's different. You don't have to have parties or anything...All i do is when i'm running errands, i ask someone if they want a book, they take the book, (sometimes my 3 year old will ask if i think they will say no) and then they call me..lol. not much interaction, i take their order on the phone, when it comes in, i call them and deliver it. and the products are cheaper than Mary Kay too.

i wouldnt do it.
its a pyramid investment.
very close to a pyramid scam.
it works for some, not for others.
youll find people who swear by it,
and others that hate it.

not sure if usa is different but we could do avon and just sell to friends which is what i did. guess problem with that is u dont make much lol

I would recommend you investigate the earning potential. Realize how much you must make per month, then find out how many other Avon reps make that kind of money. Of course the argument to that is "the more you do the more you make". I just have never known anyone selling Avon full time that makes a good living at it.
In a multilevel operation, there is income from what YOU do and income from your 'downline'. I think the high earners in a multilevel 'system' MUST have an impressive downline in order to make decent money.
I, personally, would not recommend a multilevel situation. They USUALLY just don't pay enough.
Avon is selling. Sales takes a person 'built to sell' which means a lot of extroversion, energy, and motivation.
I would bet the typical Walmart employee makes more than the typical Avon rep ... though I could be wrong.
