Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
The elder sector is in dire straits ... the MOST 'at risk' group in the world in my opinion. I am sorry you are struggling.
That aside ... you still have life and many, many opportunities. I am thinking ins sales may be too intangible .. it would be for me. I need to see hard results from my efforts.
Wondering if you could capitalize on a craft talent. Could be anything .. computer tutoring (plenty of free resources for learning it ... most overlooked by computer users). You could gain an edge with free study and tutorials .. then tutor others. Word processing is in high demand. Mastering it would cost you a dime .. and it is marketable.
Whatever you choose .. keeping busy is a very good thing for combating depression ... and it is productive. The whole world is yours .. even at 71 (I am in my 70th year).
Develop and maintain a good outlook, .. avoid idleness ... and they will lead you to rewards.
There are alternatives out there, but you have to look outside the box.
firstly: nothing wrong with sales. it is hideous and soul destroying till you learn to make it your own, and then it's fine. It's an emotional role because you're dealing with people who may not want to deal with you - but it can get better if you believe in what you're doing...
or else, run away to the hills, live in a caravan with the cats, by a nice brook growing your own veges to eat.
As I say - live outside the box. watch the youtube of meka's cob cottage.
That's a very good starting point. You don't have to have money to live. You just have to be prepared to get lateral thinking.
Do your job, bide your time, and figure out your exit strategy. this not the end. This is a new beginning.
