Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I think as you get the 'hang' of driving this kind of depression you learn to put it in a box. See it as one of the many states you can be in, but it's not a global state. It's a subset of you, not the superset. And so you can have these times but you don't have to do anything about them when you're in them. Just getting through them and getting on with life the next day is actually a good achievement.
I'm a fan of counselling too. I was raised to consider it failure and the lowest of the low by my mother, but have rejected her point of view. Counselling has helped me a lot and got me there a lot faster. Two heads are better than one, and counsellors don't blab your secrets.
