Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hi I'm new :)
maybe in need of some advice?
The last year has been horrendous, from my mum getting lung cancer and having chemotherapy and an operation to remove half a lung as well as being ill myself (both my tibia bones dislocate in both knees 20-40 a day) loosing my job and life in a way.
I have become very.... hmm I really can't think of a word for it. I know I am getting depressed as most days I cry ( please don't think I want sympathy as I'm a get up and go girl!) I often find myself just sitting by myself wondering when is this going to end.... and I always get the same answer... it ain't!!
I have faced some rather difficult things through out my life but I have always been the person to brush it off and get on with things, the one with a smileostomy on my face and never show how I'm feeling.
My question is.... do tablets really work? I see it as I could go and get tablets but everything going on is still going to be there everything is still there. Does that make sense?
Also I don't want to be labeled for asking for help or people saying " aww poor girl no wonder she needs tablets with what's she's going through " or something like that. I know it may sound harsh but I feel if I get sympathy I am going to break.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

:(
Wishing you all the best :)
