Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I'm sorry you have to deal with that disability runaround. It's a nightmare.. they dont tell you the first time you apply but you need to have a LOT of supporting documentation, people say you are ALWAYS denied the first time. That is a lie. Typically people dont meet the qualifications for disability and they apply for it instead of a job. Because of those "abusers" it's hard to get disability now.
I'm sorry you had to go to lawyers. They really have a racket going, disability denies people who need it, they have to get lawyers, then the disability money goes to the stupid lawyers.
I had lawyers on my disability claim, and if they were successful they would only take 1/3.... of my money.. every month.. Well that should dip be below the poverty line quick. Doesnt really matter in my case, the lawyers are "evaluating" if my case is suitable for litigation. Which means they will compare the amount of time they have to put in.. then divide by the amount they will make off the case.. = they probably arent going to take the case to litigation and i'm screwed.
I gained SS Disability with the help of an attorney. I have a feeling yours will result in a positive gain for you. I don't think the law has changed, but at that time, the lawyer was paid but was CAPPED at $5,000. My benefit was including back pay to when I filed the claim which came to about $45,000. He got $5,000 of that first pmt. The rest was mind from there on out.
Welcome to the group. We will try our best to support you.
