I just joined this site. I have been living with depression my entire life. I lost my job last year and having been going downhill since. I just started on meds again a week ago. My ruminating thoughts are at the highest they have ever been. Is anyone available to talk?

I am here for you. I know things are going downhill now but they will go back up. It takes a long time sometimes but things always get better eventually

Thank you so much for writing back. Change has always been very hard for me. Since I haven't been able to find a job in the last year, I'm going to a community college to get certified as a veterinary assistant. Its completely different than what I was doing. Very scary.

i know things are difficult right. Handling the situation alone is even harder. Once your medication begins to work you will feel better. I am here if you need to talk. Congratulations on going back to school! You are stronger than you think you are.

Sorry that you had a job loss. It's hard when you go through that. The feeling of failure is the hardest thing to overcome. I lost my job 2014. I still struggle with that. I am 56 yrs old and that was the only time in my career that I was fired. It's affected my marriage and who I am. So I definitely understand. I went and got another job, but it didn't fix what happened. I pray that you find peace. It will come. I know that just voicing on here is hard, but it's nice to hear other people life stories. Sometimes showing us we aren't alone. There are so many that fail and then succeed. You going back to school is a great start. Being able to help helpless animals. What a sense of being needed and trusted without judgement. Stay in touch.
