Hi everyone. I’m having a lot of trouble just living by my life day to day. It’s been almost a year since my ex and I split up, we have daughter who’s 4 now. When I met her I had been single for almost 10 years, and I felt like there was something wrong with who I was/am, that maybe nobody could love me being how I am. So I made the mistake of trying to change myself into someone I’m not and apparently never could be. I managed to do it for a couple of years until one day I couldn’t anymore. During the process, she was verbally abusive with me and even went so far as to physically attack me a few times. It’s not her or the disaster of a relationship that I miss, and I do get to be with my daughter often. I just feel like a failure, couldn’t do what I had to to keep my family intact. I pretty often get thoughts of suicide, but I manage to remind myself that doing so would ruin my daughter’s life. I’m constantly torn between feelings of love and hate for my ex. She’s been dating, and even though I don’t want to be with her, that causes me more rage than I can express. I also seem to be completely unable to connect with anyone anymore, no interest in starting to date again, seems like I’m always fighting with the few people who I still speak to. Im really starting to feel like I just can’t carry on anymore.
