Having a Tough Time

Dear DS Community,


This week has been really tough for me and several members of my family. On Monday, we received bad news about my wife's cancer. Last week, we received worse news about my brother's cancer.


I've suffered from depression for the past 30 years so this is extra hard for me. I wish I could comfort and help my family members more, but I feel like I'm doing an inadequate job and I feel so sad for both my wife and brother.


I'm just writing to help with my anxiety. Thanks for listening.

I am very sorry with what you are going through, stlake. Sometimes it really comes pouring and we are so overwhelmed that coping is almost impossible. But there is always hope. I agree that spiritual strength can see someone through. I have witnessed this many times. Having friends and relatives for support is also a crucial ingredient. I hope that you have others to be by your side at this difficult time. We are here to help in any tiny way we can. I hope things get better for you, my friend.

That is pretty rough. Sorry to hear of the cancer events. I can only say cancer research has come a LONG way, and there are reasons to be optimistic. I wish you and yours the very best. Keep the faith.

    DS, I just have to say that if I did not love my friends here on DS I would be gone in a heart beat!  I am at my wits end of losing posts!  It seems like the Gateway thing seems to be a you problem.  How can we fix it?  I always make sure that I am online and signed in before I hit send.Welcoming any suggestions other than the ones that I recieved before.
