Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I ADMIT THAT.
GOD GIVE ME THE SERENITY 2 ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANT CHANGE
THE COURAGE 2 CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN
AND THE WISDOM 2 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

First is to accept that there are things that are out of our ability to control. Letting go, really letting go, of things that are outside of our ability to control may be hard, but it is necessary.
The second is that our parents will make decisions based on criteria that does not make sense to us. My father should really go on a serious diet. He is about my height, and as such I know that he should lose 60 pounds. But he puts more importance in being happy than living longer.
The final one is that sometimes our parents make bad decisions when there are several options available to them that are less bad, or even good. I know you see you mother doing this, and I see my MIL and father (and my mother before she passed away) doing the same thing. It is very stressful, but short of having them declared incompetent to manage their own affairs, the only options I can see are to keep pounding at them to change their minds, do nothing and worry ourselves sick, or accept it and move on to what ever is next.
I am so sorry that things are stacking up on you again.
Gentle hugs.
