Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Heidiclark sounds like a good friend. It's nice to have people like that in your life. Heidiclark also brings up a good point: most people do care, and many have been in your shoes. I'm one of them. I tried to end my life in college. It was a terrible experience. I realized afterward that I was only hurting myself. The damage I wanted to do to the other people would not have been fulfilled by that action. At the end of the day, I learned that I was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed by people's inability to love me for who I was. It seemed like people wanted me around only when it was convenient for them, or when it made them feel better about themselves. Unfortunately, I allowed other people to define who I was. It took a long time for me to realize that I had value apart from people's personal opinions.
Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you want to talk. I'm here, even if just to listen.
