Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
It would be very hard to know what to do without a concise diagnosis. What remains to be done/said by the doctor?
Fear would be normal, .. just know that it is more important to find out what is going on than to fear it. Press the doctor for a diagnosis and prognosis. Once done, a second opinion might be a good idea, just to be sure. Once you know the physiology of the problem, you can better know how to manage it.
It may be simple stress. Don't get too worked up until you get some factual info.
Experts estimate that some 500,000 people in their 30s, 40s and 50s have Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.
and I believe they mean in the US. That is a very LOW incidence. I would say it is NOT likely Alzheimer's is your problem.
