I started thinking about myself and the problems I'm having and for some reason my mind shifted from thinking of this list of problems to things that were missing in my life that were keeping me from feeling ok and at peace such as healthy relationships and good health, etc. Somehow this small shift in thinking (from problems to conquer to gaps to fill) kind of relaxed me and made me feel less critical of myself. I think about small things I'm grateful for. A sunny day. the leaves have almost all come down so I can finish raking until next year., the few odd warmer days between cold ones. I hate the cold.
The process you've described is fantastic. Don't let the 'Depression' take away the awesomeness of what you have done... I often do that (easier said than done).
