Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
For lack of friends I find other ways to fill the space and try to be healthy: my pets, gardening, being in nature and I talk with myself a lot. I hope you do meet someone but in the meantime find other ways to nurture yourself.
There are two community pools by where I live, yet I prefer to tan by walking...while everyone else mingles by the pools. Also I enjoy tanning and reading in a quiet, isolated spot by a meadow. I must give off the vibe that I want to be left alone. Socializing with people causes my whole body to be tense and makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable. It's even the simple proximity of being physically close that unnerves me.
I make friends at a rate of maybe one every three years. I have moved so often, I've had to start at zero so often, I'm quite used to it. Two friends is good.
What things do you do, like activities, social events? Can you join a working men's club, or cossie club, something like that?
