Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
>>She has expressed to me before that the man that lives with her has problems. She thought he had improved and let him back in her life only to be used and now somewhat afraid for her safety.
IF she is not willing to do what she needs to do .. what CAN someone else do? It seems to me she needs to arrange police protection ... have him removed from the home .. obtain restraining order. If she doesn't she may end up being harmed. It may be a case of 'either this or that'.
I'm sorry your friend is in this position right now.. I KNOW you and your protective nature very well. I think you've given her the best advice you can and it's good advice. I do though also agree with W.V. Only SHE can save herself and if she is in an abusive situation then it's up to her to get out of it. I'll keep your friend in my prayers that she stays safe. I can certainly see how this is worrying you. :((
Love and hugs sweetie.

Sadly, though, in my experience of helping people, it does usually boil down to them realizing they are worthy of helping themselves, and knowing that they have to make a move (or several moves) to do so.
Otherwise, you will be banging your head against the proverbial brick wall, and the whole experience could very well leave you exhausted and demoralized.
Please do promise me you will look out for yourself while being the hero that I know you are. (I suspect you were a knight in shining armour, in another life.)
Sending gentlest hugs to your friend, as well....I hope she can realize she is worth being treated WELL! That's the first step.
