Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Okay. So, to all my blog readers who's read my previous "Food For Thought; Grab A Bite" blog, I have something new to discuss and stress on that topic. I've probably mentioned it in the blog already but this is something I want to shed more light on because it's something a lot of us do and don't realize. In fact, my real purpose in creating a sequel to the first blog is because I just experienced these thoughts for the past few days. Without realizing it.
So it started off with me being optimistic in my mind about receiving lessons for one of my passionate hobbys, so that I can train and become better skilled. Which is an improvement from my ways of thinking in the past. However, though I was thinking positively, I wasn't being too optimistic about the opportunities I could take hold of. I kept thinking if I took certain opportunities that sounded "unrealistic" or "too good to be true" it would never work out or I would eventually screw it all up in my future anyway. That subconscious "realist" in my head that I was trying to avoid, somehow found himself a seat at my happy table. He wasn't invited. But you see, this wasn't the only time he showed up. He showed up another time when I thought of reaching out to a good friend of mine. "He" kept telling me don't do it Harcan! You're gonna look stupid and it's gonna be so random. Your good friend will probably think you're weird. And just like that, another opportunity bites the dust. More depression, less options and possible depersonalization that will potentially speed dial PANIC ATTACKS! You see, those subconscious worries I have in my mind or "the realist" guy in my head are all bullshit. It's FAKE! The reason I'm thinking negatively about my future is because of what I've learned in my past; rightfully so. In my head, every opportunity or moment won't work out because in the past it hasn't. But wait... that's selfish. That's where I'm wrong. I had to tell myself this just like you (yes you, the person reading this) will have to tell yourself. I'm wrong. The past doesn't coexist with the future. (If yesterday, someone has ran you over with their bicycle on the corner of your house, that doesn't mean you shouldn't stop yourself from going to the corner of your house today. You probably just weren't looking before and that's okay. Now, you'll look to make sure no more bikes are riding on the side walk before you proceed. And when you don't see any bikes, keep walking. Keep walking happily. Get it?) Let your guard down. You deserve to.
"If At First You Don't Succeed, Dust Yourself Off And Try Again."
The good things in life that I may encounter aren't too good to be true. They're just too good. And we. Yes we- have to stop disallowing ourselves to accept the good. We must take hold of the good. And grasp on to the moment without any doubts of it being "realistic." We must stop relying on our EGO to make decisions for us. Shit, if it were up to our ego we would be lead to a little house on the top of a big mountain in the middle of nowhere so no one can see us cry. Or suffer. Our EGO's only make us invisible. We must take hold of every opportunity and moment that's given to us and believe it. Believe that we will be happy in the future and believe that it WILL work out. The more we keep doubting it, is the the more we'll keep subconsciously coming up with lies as to why it won't work. The only way to live is to take risks. The MORE we take risks is the more we learn. So even if it didn't go as planned, trust that at that time in the future you'll be equipped with enough experience to do even better!!!!!
GET UP AND GET OUT! LIVE!
