Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Then my friend/mentor told me about this book; "Loving God With All Your Mind" In this book were the same questions that she asked me to think about. "What is True, - (truth is real, a fact, can be proven.) What is Real,- ( alive, factual, truth.) What is Just,- ( right thing to do, but not always fair or easy, factual, real.) What is Love,- (Kind and compassionate, caring, truthful, real, trustworthy, loyal, just,..) After spending time with my friend and mentor and going through this book, my mind was finally clear and I understood and I was able to pray to God asking for His forgiveness about how I was feeling about myself. I asked Him to help me be an overcomer and be come strong and courageous to boldly stand firm against these feelings of guilt and depression. I have since be come an overcomer , I still struggle from time to time, but I pray to God during those time and ask Him to take away the thoughts and anxieties that I may have then and for him to redirect my thoughts to something positive. Then I have to focus my thoughts back to "what is True, Real, Just and Lovely." I strongly suggest that you pick up the book "Loving God With All Your Mind" by Elizabeth George. There is also a study manual that goes with it that might help you to go through it a little bit easier too! I will pray for you!
