Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Start with some chamomile tea, warm milk, or whatever non-alcoholic beverage soothes your soul.
Plan to pamper yourself. You have been hard at work cleaning...so tell yourself that you now deserve a break.
Put on some gentle music that you enjoy...take a nice long bath, or if you prefer, a nice long shower.
Try to empty your mind. Focus on breathing, slow deep breaths. Focus on the sensual. You need to switch your mind from go, go, go to pause....get your mind out of your head and into your body.
Watch something mindless on tv...like yes to the dress, or whatever takes you to a place of absolutely no concentration...do you know that they have done studies that show your brain has less activity going on when watching tv than when your are sleeping...lol.
Think about the most beautiful place you know...go there in your mind...visualize it in detail.
... I hope these suggestions help. They work for me.
