Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I just found out today that my cousin got engaged yesterday...while I'm very happy for her I'm sad for me. She is also expecting a baby boy in February. While this baby wasn't planned, it's going to be so nice for her. I just feel so alone because we are the same age and I'm nowhere near having kids or being in a relationship...besides having depression and anxiety, as well as BPD. Does anyone have any advice?

I think you should seek treatment for yourself. Can't hurt.
Having kids, being married and managing mental illness is a rough job, so until you get to a point where you can manage your mental illness to a point of stability the majority of the time, I'd hold off on having kids, because they take a ton of energy and patience, and just time...you can't turn them off or away if you need a break for a while....
