Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i usually go out and do the things that arent making me happy anymore anyway... and eventually they start to again... im not really sure why
are you on any meds? they might be the cause of it... or maybe the lack of meds is causing it?
i would go out and take as many walks with your dog as you can... for me, nothing beats numbness or depression like being outside in beautiful weather
i hope you start to feel better soon...
*hugs*
I'll try to.
No, I am not on meds. I am not sure if being on meds would help. I am generally anti-meds and I do my best to not take any. I've tried some before, and they didn't help, and made me feel dizzy and lightheaded.
Thank You, I Hope so, too.
if you talk to your dr's, you might be able to get new meds that dont have icky side effects, but i am NOT one of those people who say you HAVE to be on meds... i gave up on mine for 10-ish years and did better without them... but now im trying again (so far, not much help, but, the side effects havent started yet either, so we'll see in a few weeks i guess, when the new meds have had a chance to take effect)
anyway...
and yes, please do PM each other (or me if you want too of course)... i agree that it really helps to talk to someone whos going through it right now too
dragan, i avoided social situations for a long time too... when i was on meds the first time, they made me into a total jerkface and i lost a lot of my friends... so part of me avoids talking to friends just cuase im afraid of losing them as friends... and part of me hates it because of anxioty issues (theres a party going on in my house right now, its all family members that ive known all my life... but my anxioty wont let me join in)
but every week i force myself to go into 2 social situations... cards with a few friends on fridays and movies with a few different ones on saturdays... and i find it really really helps
the card games, i just concentrate on the cards instead of the scary people... and on movie nights i concentrate on the movies instead of the scary people... both houses i go to for those things have pets too, which help a lot
anyway, just thought id share what helps me... i hope youre both doing well today
*hugs*
