Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
People have ups and downs. letting the downs go all the way down without doing anything about it is quite hard as you mind doesn't want to - but learning your energy cycles and climbing into bed on these dark days is actually okay.
Bible, Deuteronomy 31, 8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
I often feel like I'm in a deep dark pit and everything is dark and black and no matter what positive input I get I usually don't believe it.
But I know God is with me so I learned to tell myself "That's (that I'm a piece of shit, all alone,.....) not the truth. It's okay to feel like shit. This will pass."
Then I try to do something good for myself, like sleep a little or taking a bath, or watching a movie. Or when things are really bad I just lie in bed and try to think about things that I like or items I would buy if I had all the money in the world or what I can do when I feel better again.
It definitely will pass! So please take good care of yourself.
I like Bridgie101 advice. It is okay to have down days. I like to try to journal when I get really down. You can make it private.
If you can manage it maybe try taking a shower. At least you can enjoy being clean. Sometimes it helps me to quit crying.
