I struggle with depression and part of it is feeling lost and scattered. I very much relate to what you are saying. While I do not have children, my mom had severe ppd and she talked with me about it. She wanted me to understand it in case I went through it or had friends that went through it so I could help. She said that she felt horribly guilty on top of having the depression because she felt like she was in a haze, was easily confused, couldn't focus, extreme sadness and feeling of being lost and lonely when she really just wanted to enjoy her children and be happy. She told me that she was so confused that her visual perceptions were off and would bump into things and on occasion walked into walls. It was very hard and intense for her. I am really happy that you are receiving treatment and able to start therapy. Whatever you do, reinforce with yourself, remind yourself that you did not cause this, that this is a depression caused by separation and the change in hormones. Do not blame yourself or feel guilty. This is a natural response to the changes your body is going through and the fact that you are being proactive about it is something to be proud of and feel very good about. As her daughter, I feel honored that my mom went through all of that and got the help she needed in having me. She grew from the experience and used the experience to help me and others. I hope your session goes really well tomorrow! You have a lot to look forward to! Hugs

I can relate big time. I have a 19 year old son and I have been battling severe depression for the past 25 years. I am on my phone but will post more tomorrow when I get my tablet back. For now just know that you're not alone

Sorry you are going through this. You definitely are not alone. I have struggled with depression and anxiety since I was a child. I have raised three wonderful sons. I am glad you are getting professional help much sooner than I did. I believe you will really benefit from having therapy. Good luck t you.
