Feeling guilty about not working

I have always been a hard worker, up until about a year & half ago. Then my thyroid went totally to heck (I have Hashimotos), I had a thyroidectomy in May & now I have PMR & beginning stages of RA. I cant work because of my constant depression & panic attacks. I feel SO bad because I feel like a burden on my husband, & in his own special way, he reminds me of it every couple of weeks. I have sold things on ebay since 2001, but I cant even get motivated enough to do that. What the heck? I am thankful that my kids are grown up, I don't think I would be able to handle teenagers right now. I want to spend more time with my grandson, but don't feel well enough. My son & his GF are NOT understanding & get mad when I don't watch him. They have NO CLUE how crappy I feel. I feel like Im just taking up space & air. Sorry for the vent, I guess Im feeling sorry for myself tonight. Thanks for bearing with me.

i completely understand the feeling of taking up air and space
and providing .... not as much as i useta ...
its my new word... useta this ...useta that...
i am so busy beating me up for my usetas
...the list is long ... i have decided that those who
beat me up for my short comings well they should just
stop it cuz this job i have handled just fine ... i dont need
help in reminding myself that i cant do what i useta...

but i still have use! ... and so do you gordos!!

It is ok to vent. We are here to listen and care. I have been on disability for 5 years and hate the fact that I don't work. I do hepl out with food and odds and ends but I live with my sister and have had many medical problems. She always says "since I'm the one working it is streeful on me." Sorry to be such a burden!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel.

I can't work either, but I have no one to live off of
so I sleep in my car. I don't feel bad about not
working at all, I feel angry at society for not giving
me disability payments which I obviously qualify for.
I hope you can find something that helps you.

I have had health issues for 3 yrs now! and am still trying to come to terms with just being a lump in this world. I used to work and loved my job caring for elderly in nursing home. Now I am just at home, and can't do much of anything. Been in counseling, no real answers there, just say it is ok to feel this way. I try to be open minded that I must be here for something? Just not sure what anymore. Big goal try to take walks again. Very depressed also, I think I have a good idea of how you feel too.
