Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I truly hope YOU never give up.
As far as trying every med there is, well, something hasn't been tried, you need a new doctor, something is missing. I am not going to ask you all the questions as to whether or not you are seeing a therapist, what medications you have tried, etc.... etc... I'm sure you have been asked these questions time and time again. I am just asking you to not give up on life. I don't know what the answer is and I won't pretend that I do, I just know it's not time.
For your second remark: The other side does NOT call you. It is obviously not your time. There is only one person who knows when that is. (That is my opinion.)
I hope that you are able to share all of your pains and sadness with your wife. If she doesn't know just how painful all of this is for you, she cannot help, and if she doesn't know and something were to happen to you, just imagine what she would go through the rest of her life. Have you been on this board before? There are so many people that have been where you are at right now and are here to support you, all the way, any way that they can. Another good site is the Loneliness board. They too will give you all the support a person could ask for. Please don't give up on yourself. We won't. Many hugs to you. Gramybear
Gramybear: I am very sorry to hear that you lost your ex husband. And I'm sorry to hear that your youngest is still mourning the loss. That has to be very hard. When I think about what will happen after I'm gone I just figure that my wife will be taken care of by her mom and the more than one handful of good friends that she has (she is a very popular woman). But it's also very hard for me to live each day to the fullest when I'm not living life for myself. I have insecurities because my wife hid things from me in the past ( because she didn't want to upset me...she likes to make sure EVERYONE is happy) so that has been an issue running through my mind and yes we have went to counseling for it. We then starting communicating better about things however I found out yet another major factor that happened to her though a good friend of ours that she kept from me and she got very very hurt but she doesn't want me to do anything about it or tell anyone. So I'm feeling trapped and all these mixed emotions that I feel I cannot go on keeping this horrible tragedy to myself and not doing something about it. She doesn't even like to talk about it when it's just the two of us. I realize she is in the "freeze" zone of the (flight, fight, or freeze) but I'm trying to be as supportive as possible.
I'm sorry I know that that has nothing to do with anyone, it's just something hugely that has a factor in why I feel the way I do about life right now.
My mental med doctor is NOT the best right now but he is the only one in my area who is willing to prescribe me my anxiety medicine (since it's a benzo) that DOES work very well and he just has about given up on me with my mood stabilizers.
Just wanted to let you know since I forgot to add it in my last post. I want to thank you for being so supportive and just being there to listen and for me to talk to Gerald and Gramybear.
I sweated my balls off--it was SOOO hot today down in Key Largo at a wedding I was filming, but I had a great time, and found the people very funny and receptive to my jokes too.
If meds have failed you, maybe you just need some quality Vitamin D from the sun and some sweaty exercise! Are you physically able to exercise?
