Afternoon,
I am just wondering...two of my uncles from the same side of my family have Schizophrenia (drug induced) and because of this, since my mental problems started developing this has always been a little fear of mine.
Sometimes i feel as i've im losing it, I do not hear voices nor do i see things that arnt really there..but does your depression make you feel like your going, "crazy" sometimes?
In need of a little reassuarance today i think..

You can worry about genetics (that sounds like Im giving permission!) but the results arent the same. If your uncles Schizophrenia were caused by drug use then you only need to worry if you are using drugs.

Your probably right about the drug related schizophrenia, I mean i used to do my fair share of drugs back when i was 17-19 but other then the odd puff here and there, I really havent touched them.
I guess I just need to take hold of my fears..damn Anxiety gets goin sometimes..
Im sure my drug use has impacted on me but Ive been a heavy user for 9 years now, tends to melt the brain.
if you are that worried talk to a doc about the possibilities of it happening, they should be able to calm your mind with some facts and figures and Jargon ;-)
