GT, that's because He does. Tough to be the new kid on the block. Have rocked the boat a few times, but usually worked in my favor. Comforting and uplifting hugs and prayers.

Update. I can work, but not around clients. I keep telling myself it's better than being fired. Sure made me put the brakes on and reflect. I feel bad inside because I put my heart and soul into my clients. I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that it's a precautionary measure by my employer. I'm just feeling very lowly.

My clients are what keep me coming to work. Hard to be in quarantine so to speak. You still have friends here.

dont worry to much, your at the age that your experienced and productive and replacing you wouldnt be cost effective, no need to worry that much until you get older and they feel they will save money by starting some one new.

It was really kind of them to accommodate you. I feel they must value you.

Thank you all for thinking of me. I work for a large city and I work with special needs individuals. I dropped off a client at his group home, I watched him walk inside, and close the front door. The white chevy Impalla that belongs to one of the staff members was parked out in front of the house. Well it turns out that no staff was at the home and that someone left the house unlocked. There were no other clients in the house. So I inadvertently left the clients alone by himself in the house. I should have seen someone acknowledge to me that they "got him". Knowing that it's a group home and they are often taxed with sudden responsibilities I assumed someone was there. Who leaves a group home unlocked? So according to my employer I violated his human rights by leaving him unattended. What ever that means? I agree I didn't follow procedure. Hence why I am on the hook. Did I learn from my mistake? Absolutely. In my employers reasoning they decided while they are investigating the whole matter they pulled me from being with clients. CYA. So I spend my days around the office on the clock doing whatever menial assignments come along. For example I spent a half of a day at the local Ford dealer getting keys reprogramed for a new van. I can think of many other ways this could have turned out and yes I am very glad to keep my job. I just take my medicine knowing that eventually I will be back in our daily cycle doing what I do best. BTW the police discovered the client an hour later watching tv in his room.
