I wish I had a magic wand to wave and make everything better. I still am in this depression and anxiety hole and now my health is causing problems. Doctor says allergies, but it doesn't feel like my normal allergy symptoms. And it's not just me, my nephew's been to the doctors and my niece is coughing supposedly due to allergies as well. I believe I may have started to come to terms that I will miss 8 or more years of my son's life because of choices that were forced upon me. I just I had gotten the truth instead of lies. Now I have to go on excluding him out of everything that's done in the future. I still feel numb inside and I believe telling/showing a child that you're happy when you're not is a lie to face when trying to raise that child that lying is wrong. Any type of lie is still a lie. And anything made freely is still a choice. It's this or that. Not both or beat around the bush. That is the problem with the world these days. Everyone wants to beat around the bush and walk on eggshells where children are concerned. Did they do that when children than 15 ended up pregnant? When Elementary students brought guns to school to shoot kids? They were children, but they all made a choice and held accountable for those choices as well as those guardians in charge. This is the world we live in now. And truth starts in the home as well as strength and love. Which one is fed and nurtured the most?

Your child needs you. My mother suffered with depression for years when I was a kid but she was also the one to take me to the park and bring me to dance lessons and walk me to school.

Now that she's a lot better, I don't think I could have had a relationship with her because she abandoned me as a child. Either way, your decision will have an effect but you can get help and be with your child again.

Also I'm in my 30s so they didnt have the same help as they do today

I did all those things with my child as well. When a child pushes a parent away due to the results of the hatred of another parent, there is little to be done. It's called child alienation. I've been looking it up and it's everything that's been going on. My son doesn't understand that he's being used as a pawn, but because of the fact that he made his choice and believing that everything I did was for his future, when he realizes what's been going on I won't be there to give him the answers he needs. Children pick up attitudes and everything else by watching their surroundings. My son may be 12, but he is far from innocent. A mother knows their child. Right now, he doesn't need me. He needs to open his eyes and realize what he's doing for himself. I tried all the help out there. And I can't make someone accept help that doesn't want it. And my son doesn't want my help. He doesn't want to be raised by me. I will always love my son, he will always be part of me, but he has to learn this life lesson unfortunately without me.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hate it when a parent aleinates the child to be cruel. Maybe in a few years you.can reach out to him directly.

I don't know. They've done a terrible number on my son. For 12 years, whenever he would come back from visitation, it would be the same routine. Getting my son to be respectful and happy, only for them to undo it all over again. You can feel a terrible change, but have no proof of it and you try to do the right thing for your child and yet still you know you're losing your child and your child is the one that's going to suffer because if you say anything it will only be distorted for their pleasure. I tried to protect my son, but when he chose to live with his father and grandmother and chose to leave my protection and it's everything his father and grandmother want. My son and I to be apart. Maybe when he's older less controlled by them, he'll come to me. Until then, all I here is he doesn't want to visit me or my family.

I am exceedingly glad your son is with his father. You are not in your right mind and you are not a healthy place for him to be.

You need to spend this time healing yourself, and getting in touch with reality. Do not make any laws or rules regarding your son. Wait until you have gained some much-needed perspective before you do anything you cannot undo.

You are absolutely off base in your understanding of things.

the poor shepherd blames his sheep. Your son is at his fathers because being with you was no good. Your son didn't get lured away with toys and promises. Your son escaped an environment he couldn't survive and moved into a far more healthy one.

You are being very egocentric about the whole thing. If you think of what your son needs you can let go of all your personal feelings.

You have no idea what you're talking about and obviously have no idea how cruel people can be because apparently you have never really suffered the loss of a child or the torture to have your newborn ripped out of you arms for no reason. I never did anything to these people. I raised my child in a loving healthy home with boundaries. He had friends here and freedom to do whatever he wanted within limits as child should. How DARE YOU judge me! My son was not a prisoner and always had free will. It is you who does not have a grip on reality. This is a place for support, not judgement and believe me I am not the only one going through what I am right now. Because of people like you and your understanding bridgie101, is the reason why child alienation is a thing that is alive, thriving and constantly growing. How DARE YOU!

My son and I were happy being with my family. There are just some people in the world that won't rest and be content until their misery has company to make them feel completed. And if someone admits being an A*%hole and takes pride in it, how in any way is that best for my son to be arround? Some people will just continue to be blind to the truth of how terrible broken homes can be. I just hope that they will be able to continue go through life being happy without having to experience the same terrible burdens.

I hope that when your son is old enough to understand the ways of the world he will seek your company. I've heard of Child alienation and I am not a fan of it. At the end of the day the powers that be should have the Child's interests at heart. And a child needs to experience family as a happy comfortable environment. I guess sometime the courts can get that wrong, But in challenging the decision would only put more pressure on your son. So I guess you'll have to play the long game and wait for your son to come to you.

Thank you Carolin57. I have always told him that if he ever needs me I am here for him and that I would never lie to him. If there are things that I couldn't answer or had no place in answering, I will help him in getting those answers whether they be good or bad. I always stood by him and watched him shine. That was my baby who grew into a very bright boy. Before all this, it was my son and I against the world. At least that's what we tried to go for. He believed that if I ever started dating again, that he should decide if he's right for me and not the other way around. Every choice I made in life was decided for my child. I didnt need anything else in life other than my son, my family and friends. Hopefully, he will remember everything I taught him. Thank you again.
