Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Take all the help you can get from family, friends, doctors and the people here on DS, otherwise it will turn into a chronic situation which I feel is very hard to climb out.
Surround yourself with people who love you and care. Hugs!.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent return of old mood/perspective.
And Yes, from time to time I have relapses that are Major depressive disorder episodes (formerly known as nervous breakdowns)...This is when I visit my primary care doctor who augments my current antidepressant (effexor xr) with remeron for about 1-2 months...then I after getting over that hump I am back to baseline.
I do think that stress and bad events in life can trigger it but I think that it's more biological in nature (losing more serotonin or norepinephrine) so I'd advise you to talk with your physician about it if you feel like it's only getting worse.
To prevent this from happening I do a lot of self care when I feel it coming on like a shopping day here & there when i can afford it, a at home spa day (nothing fancy just a bath, doing my nails, etc..., I'll go out and get my favorite meal or dessert, something that will lift your spirits and let yourself know that you care about you :)
Do you have family or friends you currently talk with? Ask them what they like about you...you'd be surprised what great things they have to say that can lift your spirits :)
