Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Sometimes I do this to myself and it actually works.
Not on huge things, though. I unfortunately trained myself to do this at a very young age (and then was literally trained to do it in WAY too many sales jobs LOL). So it comes very naturally.
Faking it to other people generally sucks.
Faking it to myself, on the other hand, sometimes drags me up out of a depression if I start doing it soon enough. For me, that includes things like not talking about how crappy I'm feeling, and instead talking about things that, while they're not making me happy, are things I know to be positive. Or it could be just distracting myself with something totally silly or stupid that I don't want to do because I'm so down, but which I know has the potential to put me in a better mood.
I hope that made sense...best wishes
We had an earthquake today. My ex would've called me to see if I was okay or whatever. This new guy...didn't hear a peep from him. When I reached out to him...he was like "everything is fine..that was cool." I would like to be babied sometimes..or taken care of. Sorry..I am just rambling. I will get over this. But I feel your pain. We just want to be loved...I try not to let my guard down, which is not always good.
