Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Say you say you saw Bigfoot. Many would look at you like you are crazy, because they never saw Bigfoot and thus they don't believe Bigfoot exists. Depression to them is like Bigfoot. They then might say you saw something that they can relate to, like a bear. This is like when someone with Depression is told that they are just sad. It takes an empathy and compassion to truly understand that which one has never experienced. Sometimes that means talking to them and waiting for them to understand. Sometimes it is just understanding that they will never understand. It doesn't mean that they don't love you. Love does mean still loving without understanding. It can seem lonely, but it is about finding those that understand and encourage, while still being loved by those that might not understand. I hope this was helpful. I apologize if not. Thank you.
You have an ailment and you, the beautiful that you are, can work to improve that. They have a character flaw and are doomed to it for life.
I don't talk to people like that either, but there are many many other people to talk to.

The best thing to do about clinical depression is to get into a doctor's care. They DO know ... they study it and practice treating it.
