Even still, he was a good actor and I have fun watching his stuff. He often played the bad guy, perhaps more often than playing the good guy.

Um, yeah, he passed away in 2012.

One of my favorite characters of his was as the abrasive cop in the 1972 Irwin Allen disaster at sea epicThe Poseidon Adventure. He was verbally abusive to Gene Hackman's Preacher, but he sure loved his wife Linda, the ex-prostitute who he arrested six times to get her off the street! He sure loved her so and mourned her when she perished in the flames!

He also turned in a very touching performance as a janitor with a heart of gold who helps Ethan Hawke's character get into the astronaut training program in the 1997 sci-fi film Gattaca.

Maybe bury your cousin's head in the sand...it sounds like he gotcha! I pulled a prank like that on my mother once. I played a re-run of the 1963 assassination announcement of JFK I had on a cassette tape and claimed it was Gerald Ford who was shot...boy was she pissed!
