may 12th, i refilled a prescription for effexor at a drug store i just started using.
may 18th, i saw my dr and she doubled the dose, and sent in new prescriptions for 3 meds that i was due to run out of before i'll see her again
so i took twice as many of the effexor pills i already had
a couple days ago, i ran out of them... so i ran to the drug store to pick up the prescriptions that were supposed to be in their computer for about 2 weeks already... the drug store denied their existance
so i asked for a card, in case she sent them to the wrong drug store, or something... and i called the dr today
she looked into the computer... YES, indeed, the prescriptions were sent to the proper store on the 18th
now the pharmacist has decided its too soon to refill the prescriptions... im assuming he didnt look at the dosages, and im also assuming he just threw out the prescriptions when they came in almost 2 weeks ago... what else could possibly make sense?
well, the dr said she'd send them again... that was about 7 hours ago... and for all the time ive known this dr, she has sent in prescriptions before i make it out the door... i have zero reason to believe she wouldnt have today too (cept of course that i was on the phone, not in her office)
well i just got back from the drug store and nothing.
so now im out of effexor and have been for 2 days and im starting to feel the withdrawls.... im very aggitated and every time i move my eyes, i get dizzy
so ive decided to just dump all my meds... why not? im already halfway through the withdrawls on the effexor, and ive been thinking about dropping the neurontin anyway... and i REFUSE to let some glorified soda jockey decide what i can and cant put in my own body! what the hell does he know anyway? obviously he cant even do simple math, and im sposed to trust him with my meds??? i dont think so!
ive had nothing but problems with morons at pharmacies since the one i liked closed... but this one is the first problem with the actual medications... im tired of dealing with these places and i dont want to anymore... what ever happened to mom n pop type pharmacies??? why do they all have to be run by multinational cash machines who couldnt care less about their patients, and only want the all mightly $$$???
but its gonna be cold turkey with the effexor.... i have enough neurontin for about 3 or maybe 4 days, and i guess i'll do what i can to taper off of that
but im wondering, whats the worst thing that can happen, going from 75mg of effexor a day to 0? how long does the withdrawl last?

As for the effexor 75 mg, the symptoms are MISERABLE. I would highly recommend you see your doctor, as it is one of the worst meds to wing off of and is supposedly can cause severe depression, as well as dizziness, nausea, muscle cramps, etc. I understand you're frustrated, and I've been there before too. It irritates me that pharmacies and doc offices do not take this more seriously with drugs that can lead to suicide if quit cold turkey!!! It doesn't take long to feel the effects. Despite your frustrations though I REALLY recommend you talk to your doc and fill enough of both medications to taper safely and painlessly off of them.
its not like this is my choice or anything... but i dont have what it takes to fight these huge forces that are against me

Anyway, I agree that you should talk to your doctor about it. Is there an option to do a mail order for them?
