Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I’ve never been to a support group.. I don’t know what to expect or how to start.
But at this point, I feel as though I need help.
I’ve been suicidal since age 5. I started looking for help when I was 8. Diagnosed with depression and medicated since at age 14. Seen more doctors and therapist than I can count on my hands and toes.
I have severe melancholic depression, BPD, diagnosed insomniac and get severe anxiety and panic attacks.
I feel dead inside. I have suicidal thoughts everyday. I want to die everyday. But I reaalllyyy DONT want to die. I dont want to hurt myself. I’ve attempted suicide in the past and almost died.
Despite my friends and family support, I feel completely and utterly alone. They know me as someone who is happy despite my past, my pain, my suffering, the horrors I’ve survived. I have tried so hard to push through it all. To not only survive, but try to live.
It’s not working. I’m mentally and emotionally exhausted. It’s come to the point where my doctors recently thought on top of it all that I also had a bad case of Mono, until we got the negative test results back today.
I’m ready to give up. But I don’t want to give up. I refuse to give up.
I have to believe that I didn’t spend my whole life suffering just to end up in a bodybag.
I’m considering Electroconvulsive Therapy.
I’m scared. But I need hope.
I need advice.
