All I can say about today's dr visit is wow. The dr I go to is a teaching office so I may end up seeing a student before my dr. I've never had a problem with that until today. I came in as a follow up for starting viibryd again. The student came in to do a quick history, she asks how I'm doing on the meds. When I tell her that they're working but I still have a little bit of depression feelings (I'm not on the full strength yet like I was before) she tells me to go take a walk. I tell her that I'm a single mother of 3 teenage boys so it's not always just that easy to go for a walk, hit the gym etc. She replies well you know that works. WTF now I have someone going into the medical field that thinks I'm choosing to be depressed!!! Just had to vent, thanks

Plenty of room here to vent! Hopefully that student will learn the very basics of human interaction. I don't know your options, but maybe you can have a visit with your actual doctor soon and explain. In the meantime, remember you are not alone and doing the best to vent it out. Sounds like you have a lot going on already ... gees, go for a walk, yeah right.

I might give a reply like that if the person meets a criterea:
a) They don't seem (seem) dysfunctionally depressed.
b) Their current treatment is as good as it can get.

Even then, I know people don't like their pain to be dissed, because it's real to them, and as you said, I might raise the dosage to what it had been before, if there weren't any noticeable or serious side effects, when critera "a" is in effect.

very sorry you had to go through that ...it is very frustrating when they aren't lisinging to you ....you know you better than they do ....if you have to see that one again .i would be a little bit more fors full in telling them you do all the things you need to do to help your self ..that you need to have your meds raised ...if this student won't lisen complain and get someone else ....that is what I would do ...you have to go home and be depressed ..that person goes home thinking they know more than you ..happy .at the end of the day ...not right ...I beter not say any more I have problems with people who think they know it all When they don't ...........take care ...God bless ....

Did you let your doctor know what happened? This is a good way for the new doctors to get feedback!

And yes, it is very annoying when doctors speak without knowing what they are saying.
