Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I am sorry you are going through this. I think I can understand you because I am going through depression too. You could find here people who really care and listen.
I think that having a kid is so special although I haven't become a parent yet, but I can feel parenthood toward kids. I agree with you. They really have the power to save us and keep us going. It is really cool and interesting.
I too was at a place where I just wanted to "disappear". I didn't think anyone would care that I was gone. The only thing that saved me was the thought of my soon-to-be-exhusband telling my 2 very young children "Mommy didn't love you enough to stay in your lives".
Please seek treatment. I went to the ER and told them I was suicidal. I was referred to a psych hospital, diagnosed with alcohol dependence (alcoholism - I knew that) and bi-polar disorder (that was new to me). I was stabilized with medication, referred to therapy and got better. I am now sober and my BP is managed quite well.
Please, please seek treatment. For you and your family.
When my husband and I decided to move to America, I know that I would be away from my family and friends. During that time, there was no social media so it was hard to connect with my friends. It took time for me to create friendship because we need to move from one state to another state.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I'm glad you found this group, you can talk to us anytime. I hope you will find the encouragement that you need through this forum. We are here and we care for you so keep on posting. Take care, God bless.
