Don't want to move out and face reality

'm 20 years old. And I know it's going to sound pathetic, but thinking about moving away from my parents is depressing. I feel like I'm not ready to face reality yet. I already have a job and I am learning to drive and I hate both of those. My job is a pain and I am a crappy driver. It feels like I would be worse off without the support of my family. I don't know. I just feel like I wouldn't make it without my parents sometimes. Does anyone else feel this way? And is there anyway I can change this? Because feeling like I'm always going to need them and like I am a frightened little child sucks.

This Is Not "Pathetic" At All Sweetheart.
Change Can Be Very Scary Sometimes. I Honesty Don't Know Anyone Who Likes Their Job...... And The Traffic Is So Much Worse Now Then It Was When I Was Learning To Drive. Please Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself. You Will Be A Great Driver :) It Just Takes A LOT Of Patience.

Our Daughter Moved Out When She Was 18 And Five Years Later She Moved Back Home. She's Still Here And I Don't Think She's Leaving Anytime Soon. (She's 28 :)

I always tell my son not to move out until he's ready. He just turned 17 and also has some disabilities, so it may be a while and that's okay.

Money and a job you like certainly helps! I felt the exact same way at 20. It took 'til I was 30 to find a job I at least halfway enjoyed that paid well enough to get my own place for me to move out

Granted, i was going to college too. After being in the work force for 3 years, it took me 9 years to earn a 4-year degree in Communications. I really floundered in college, because I didn't see the need for 85% of the material, and because I took more electives than were needed to complete the degree.

Now I earn a living as a free-lance videographer doing mostly weddings and as a security officer. I'm not getting rich off any of it, but I'm getting by.
