Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Also that is a pretty negative viewpoint on antidepressants. Wouldn’t you take a blood thinner if you needed it, even if you had to take it forever to prevent a blood clot? Same difference. They can help. Why does it matter if you’re on it forever? The only downside is sometimes if you miss a dose you really feel dreadful. I end up crying pretty much every time I forget to take my medication, but it has been helpful for me, once I found the right meds, at least for my depression.
I think a support GROUP is what you need ... a face to face group .. that meets weekly. I hope you can find one. Good luck to you, ... and hopefully DS can do until you find something better.
I attended 'group meetings' in the Veterans Administration for about 5 years. To be honest, .. it did little to nothing for me.
Depression has to be treated (mostly with medication) and we, ourselves, get what goes on in our heads straight. I have found ... I am (now) too busy to be depressed.
