Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am so sorry you are struggling right now.
I was diagnosed with BPD in my early 20's and it lasted until about my mid 30's.It is a very stigmatizing illness to have and comes with a lot of pain and turmoil.
But with a lot of work in therapy, and simply with getting older,I simply outgrew the diagnosis, thank God.
My pyschiatrist actually told me that it is rare for someone in their 40's or older to have the diagnosis, and I am so glad to be free of it.
I so hope this isn't something you are suffering from as it is such an incredibly trying disorder to have to live with.
Sending you support&peace,
Borderline personality is a serious disorder that requires an official diagnosis and appropriate attention if you actually have the disorder. It would be wise to see an MD - either a psychiatrist or psychologist who can actually diagnose and help treat you moving forward.
Until you can move forward with proper diagnostics, take some deep breaths. Any diagnosis requires some nuanced and professional care, so until then try not to jump to conclusions.
