Does anyone get depressed about climate change?

Lately I've been depressed about the climate changing, all the fires, the predictions of mass extinction, etc.  It really is disturbing to me and one of the most distrubing things that is a constant reminder is that it is too warm all the time!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not sad that this winter has not been brutally cold like usual but it's been freakishly warm and it just feels wrong.  I also feel really sad for all the animals that are being killed or dying and losing their habititat.  Can you imagine what that must be like for them?   And what is the plan.  I recycle, eat very little meat and wash the clothes on cold (sometimes) but that's about it.   I want to reverse this damage but I feel it's too late.  This really does make me sad and is troubling to the core of my being.  What about future generations?  What about the animals?  I just wanted to vent about that.  It's something that is starting to bother me on a daily basis.  Sometimes if feels like nobody really cares.  What are we supposed to do?

I worry about it, but what can one person do? The fires in Australia bother me currently. However, I can't do anything about them.

I hate the fires everywhere. It seems three places have fires. California, The Amazon, and now Australia

Lots of people care. There are tons of organizations dedicated to recycling, the welfare of animals, the welfare of the planet, the environment, and getting organized politically. A simple google search and you can find ways to get involved and make a global impact by acting locally. At the very least, simply voting can make a huge difference as well.

Yes, I did google it but am still confused what the best thing to do is. and I do vote but look what happened last time. the majority of us did not win. I also think the Amazon rain forest fires are particularly horrific because it's my understanding that someone is starting them on purpose to make way for grazing cattle for slaughter and consumption. I've heard the rainforests being described as the lungs of the planet with the most diverse life on earth. Why is this person starting these fires for money not stopped? How do you get involved with that because it seems like what it comes down to is money and those in power who are not environmentally friendly do not give a sh*t about who they are hurting when they destroy habitiat, etc.

Voting is the key I think. I take it the GOP in the US really does not care. It seems like the Dems are the ones for green energy.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with the enormity of climate change, but improving your corner of the world, however small it may be, still improves the world :)

I agree. I have become much more anxious about the earth.
We hear again and again that our time is running out.
And I also agree that we need to vote for a candidate that
understands the urgency of the situation

Not to get political here. Not sure where everyone lives here on this thread. In the US I have always voted Democratic. I feel their way is better.

Dunno. I voted for a woman president and would do so again. I feel the GOP painted themselves into a corner. First some of them went extreme right with the "Tea party". Dunno. I don't think extreme one way (left or right) is healthy.

I just feel the liberal way is the future. Inclusive. Also Democrats are more in favor of green energies.
